Around this time each year, I take the opportunity to reflect on the past and plan for the future. In the past, I relied on an elaborate 20-page booklet filled with thoughtfully curated questions and exercises. The goal was to uncover patterns from the previous year and craft a vision for the year ahead. Over time, I developed my own system for simplicity and ease. I focused on areas of interest and created small trackers to monitor them throughout the year. As I look back now, I already have some data to analyze. It’s a work in progress—I continually refine my system to ensure it’s time-efficient and eliminate trackers that don’t add value.

The number of days spent at Bangalore is higher than last year(248 compared to 156), however, it does justify the high rent finally. The number of days in office was just 67. The number of days at Bhubaneswar still makes me happy and is something I would like to maintain in coming years. The company I was working for had a hybrid work culture that allowed me some room for flexibility. The number of days exploring new cities is also not bad.

For the most part of the year, I avoided playing rapid games with the fear of losing my 1700 rating. The above stats are only from chess.com games pulled using a script. Read more about this topic. Apart from these, I played a few games on lichess and over the board with friends and collegues. I didnt attend any major chess events this year which I plan to work towards in the coming year.

The first category is for purchases which are generally household and cost more than 2k, and are for a longer time period. This includes some furniture items and a bike this year. The clothing expenses are generally lower but this year included my wedding. The amount spent travelling seems adequate considering that these are now a 2 person expense. The amount spent visiting home is not included and I plan to include that next year.
